I've very selective on who I choose to coach. That's because I've a very busy 'day job' and need to be 100% committed to support you in achieving your potential. That means we must like each other and believe you've got what it takes to make the most of my expertise. But I'm keen to refer you on to others that I trust.
Please note that I only recommend people that I trust and have absolute confidence that they can do an outstanding job for you. Please click on the buttons to be directed to their websites.
I am lucky to coach Pro triathlete and IM Wales winner Simone Mitchell. We've had multiple successes together including an IM 70.3 age-group world championship victory and multiple course
records.
Simone is an outstanding fitness professional who I've so much respect for. Whilst she has a 'pro' mindset, her ability to engage with others is a wonder to behold. A lasting memory was her helping me do 'conditioning work' in which I was absolutely hopeless. As her coach, I felt my ego was totally exposed but she helped me without judging. I'm also there to support Simone with her own coaching when she needs my expertise.
I'd recommend you contact Simone if you are an ambitious age-group athlete.
David is a world-leading coach who works with the likes of Lionel Saunders & Kim Morrison.  He's a lovely bloke and one who I have a great deal of respect for. He's one of the first I'll go to if I don't have an answer or simply want to bounce ideas off him.
David's expertise is most suitable for athletes capable of performing on the world stage.
Team Oxygen Addict is run by coaching buddy Rob Wilby. I met Rob when he delivered on a coaching course I was attending. Rob's got outstanding knowledge of athletes who don't necessarily aspire to be the world's best. Rather, he caters for the masses in a way that helps them reach their personal goals. Whilst his services are less-bespoke and more cost effective than my other recommendations, he does exactly what is needed within his niche of the market.
Joel runs the local Edinburgh Triathletes Performance Squad. Joel has a deep coaching intellect and is focused on being the best coach he can be. We share very similar coaching values and that's why I recommend him.
I can't remember how I met Rob, perhaps a TrainingPeaks University event. Rob has psychology expertise and is available to all levels of athletes.
Sarah Broadhead is a clinical psychologist who I met, whilst she was working for Chimp Management, the company of world-renowned psychiatrist Steve Peters. She's worked with many Olympic level athletes and is a pretty special lady. I've referred people on to her.
Tom Craggs and Robbie Britton are wonderful running coaches. Tom focuses on marathon runners and is England Marathon Coach. I'll often 'pick his brains' and he's helped me with Simone's running technique too.
What can I say about Robbie Britton apart from I love that man! His thirst for knowledge to be a better coach is inspirational. I also went on a training camp in Chamonix with him leading in 2019. He's humble, has a crazy knowledge of ultra-running and he's someone I'd want never to 'let down' if he was my coach.
Both Tom and Robbie studied with me at the University of Stirling on the MSc. in Performance Coaching too. Their brains work in completely different ways, but they're amazing coaches in their own right.
Both my partner and I use Physis Physiotherapy in Edinburgh. We see head-honcho Graham Curlewis who's yogi like in his knowledge and holistic practice. I thoroughly recommend Ola Szyszczakiewicz who's amazing too. Admittedly, Ola like family to me. But I met her through being her cycle coach, and have a deep respect for her as a professional too.
Phil Burt is a world renowned cycling health and performance innovator. He is an expert physiotherapist and bike fitter, who was Head of Physiotherapy at British Cycling, as well as 5 years as Consultant Physiotherapist at Team Sky.
Phil offers offers a range of services including cycling specific injury assessment and treatment, bike fit, aero assessment and saddle health assessments.
Phil is a great guy too.
Leszek and Joanna run local gym Fitness Soul which is just round the corner from me. They're lovely people and what more of a recommendation can I give than Leszek is my personal trainer. I don't think I'm his typical client, but I love my sessions with him.
